Miokinon

Mariel Cooksey AKA Miokinon is a a queer painter and sculptor, writer, sometimes burlesque and drag performer, masters graduate, mother of two silly cats, and a dedicated lover of all things strange and colorful. Growing up in a family of science fiction and horror writers, her childhood was spent on TV and movie sets in Vancouver, admiring the creativity and craziness of storytelling through makeup, costume and set design. Her work is inspired by the Bauhaus movement, kaleidoscopes, and the glitter that usually ends up all over her apartment floor.
